Bio

I am a lettering designer, calligrapher and illustrator. From my Seattle studio I create handwriting campaigns, book titling and corporate identies for clients worldwide. My work has appeared in the annuals of the Type Directors Club, Communication Arts and Print, and in numerous anthologies, including Creative Stroke and Trademarks and Logotypes of the World II.

I also have an ongoing practice as a mixed media fine artist and show in several galleries in the Seattle area. From my art practice I bring a sense of curiosity, theater and diverse expression to my work in letterforms. As a designer I prefer not to be "branded" but to brand "you" through the creative use of voice expressed through the letters of the alphabet.

Clients include Random House, Simon & Schuster, St. Martins, Penguin Books, Pfizer, Pepsico, Dreamworks, Estee Lauder, American Express and many others. You can see my most recent work on my blog, Alphabet Roadtrip or the comprehensive portfolio at Iskra Design.
