Meet the 2021 AIGA Medal Recipients

Established in 1920, the medal of AIGA—the most distinguished honor in the field—is awarded to individuals in recognition of their exceptional achievements, services or other contributions to the field of design and visual communication. The contribution may be in the practice of design, teaching, writing, or leadership of the profession.

Meet the 2021 Steven Heller Prize for Cultural Commentary Recipients

Established in 2017, the Steven Heller Prize for Cultural Commentary spotlights individuals who best exemplify the tradition of prolific writing and boundless curiosity. This award celebrates critical thinking about design and the profession, and it encourages development in the next generation of design voices through a variety of media.

We’re thrilled to recognize Johanna Drucker and Alissa Walker as the recipients of the 2021 Steven Heller Prize for Cultural Commentary.
