Making the transition from agency to in-house design can feel like creative culture shock. In 2010, Sheharazad experienced this first-hand when she left agency life behind to build an in-house creative team for a university. This talk will focus on the importance of design leadership within organizations, and building strong external partnerships to produce results, in-house. Think of it as an elixir for “What am I doing here?” syndrome, sure to leave you with a nice feeling, inside and out.

From 2010 to 2018, she served as in-house Creative Director for the University of Southern California. In this role, Sheharazad led the first significant rebranding of the institution in over two decades, launched the visual identity for the largest fundraising campaign in the history of higher education, and built an in-house creative department with satellite teams spanning several campuses and offices worldwide.
