Celebrate Suffrage: Vote

Celebrate Suffrage: Vote
Submitted By Rebecca Mushtare
Chapter Upstate New York
Artist Statement The voting rights we have as American citizens were fought for over the course of our country's history. The battle for women’s suffrage took more than seven decades. Failing to fulfill the civic responsibility of voting trivializes the efforts of the individuals who suffered to make suffrage a reality in the United States. Taking the form of a political button, this poster honors the suffragettes and celebrates the upcoming 100-year anniversary of a woman’s right to vote in New York State (2017).
