Designers as innovators, activists, and visionaries

I was delighted to have a chance to speak at the 2016 HOW Design Live in May, and equally delighted to invite the incoming chair of our Diversity & Inclusion task force, Jacinda Walker, to join me on stage and share her most current, and important, research.

This talk represents our desire, and my fervent passion, to help designers reframe, navigate, and think about their ever-changing careers—a profession that is filled with possibilities beyond what designers already know and do. That’s what being agile and being an innovator is about—advocating for breakthroughs and creating new value in a world that needs inclusive and diverse solutions. And in a salute to my mentor and friend Tom Peters, I am sharing my presentation here. I hope it is useful, and leads to a new creative spark for our 26,000 members.
