Bio I am an experienced graphic designer who is becoming an educator through earning a Master’s of Fine Arts at the Academy of Art University. A versatile, creative, efficient and flexible professional at designing, collaborating and directing with over 12 years of industry experience at both small start-up and high-profile, multi-million dollar companies. I believe that print designers should learn HTML and digital designers should know how to set type. I recognize that designers have more power than we often realize as those who create content and promote products and services. As such, I endeavor to teach others to be aware of the ethical issues of access, privacy, controls and ownership. With my experience in graphic design, I bring both knowledge and passion. I began my path to becoming a graphic designer back in 1998 when I started as a pre-architecture major in college. I started out in architecture because as a senior in high school, I took an architecture class and fell in love with the clean lines and designing the space. A few semesters into the program, however, and I found that there was a lot to architecture that I didn’t love, so I took I upon myself to see what other options were available. That is where I learned about graphic design. Design was a natural fit for me; it had all the things I loved about architecture without the things that I didn’t like. I enrolled in the Bachelor’s of Fine Arts program and entered the design field before I graduated.
