David Bill brings a deep understanding of how the principles and practices of design can influence the pedagogical, cultural, and spatial dynamics that create successful learning environments.

David was a high school history and media literacy teacher, cross-country coach, and Director of Educational Technology at several schools.  He began his design career at a small education and design consultancy, where he worked with schools and community groups to incorporate project-based learning, design, and technology.

Since then he has redesigned two classrooms, facilitated design workshops for students, teachers, and administrators, and helped schools develop strategies to rethink how, where, and when their students learn.  In addition, David worked with the City of San Francisco to design and activate a public plaza to create a safer and more vibrant neighborhood.

David’s work is shaped by his background in social sciences, technology, and human-centered design.  He explores how physical and visual designs, coupled with enquiry-based learning approaches, can affect how educators and students interact with their learning environments.  David enjoys working with schools to create strategies to reshape their students’ learning experiences and support the needs of their communities.
