Bio

Born and raised by a blue collar family deep in the coal mines of Northeastern Pennsylvania, Will Gelatko, understands the dedication of blood, sweat & tears to complete a successful project. Always having a fascination for the combination of science, math and art, Will was working toward degrees in Architecture and Mechanical Engineering before switching to his true passion of Graphic Design.

Will considers himself an experimenter as much as a designer, and he is constantly tinkering with old concepts and thinking of new ideas. Will never settles and is always hunting for the next great project. He lives by the motto of “Keep Moving Forward”, meaning as the world and design evolves, so must he.

Will has quite a few passion projects including screen printing, building/customizing his own guitars, as well as, woodworking and solar powered electronics. As a way to house all his passion projects under one roof, Will and his fiancée, Danielle, started Mechanical Birds Design & Print Studio, in March of 2015.

Mechanical Birds has a primary focus of creating "designy" goods and materials. From handmade copper lamps and custom wood panels to screen printing and design services, there is no project they are not willing to tackle. When not working on client work, they can be found slinging their goods at flea markets and art shows throughout the region.

On a personal level, Will has an overwhelming love for owls, Modest Mouse, street art, whiskey and everything hands-on. He currently resides in Philadelphia, where he spends his mornings as Marketing Coordinator/Graphic Designer for Keating Consulting. He then spends his evenings/weekends dedicated to Mechanical Birds.
