Bio

I am a Nigerian.

Nigerian graphic designers with actually BFA degrees are rare. Why? Because my people see what I do as frivolous and a waste of time more so than anyone else. I get absolutely no respect for doing what I do and my parents are often looked down upon for allowing me to go to school for it. I am the black sheep, the one most likely to come begging for money, the one least likely to find steady work. Everyday I get pity glances from my family and friends and some days, it does get to me. But whenever I feel down about not earning enough and not being respected for my craft, I think to this quote:

"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." - Confucius

I have loved art since I was six and have loved design before I even knew what it was. Joining AIGA was in my opinion to this day, the best decision I ever made in college besides picking art as a major. I do not feel alone here. The designers here understand my ups, downs, and sideways more than my blood ever could.

I am a Nigerian, and a designer. That will never change.
