Bio

Elisabeth Nord is currently Senior Experience Designer in the USIRKS digital space at DST Systems, Inc. where the team is developing solutions to improve information access from the desktop, tablet, and mobile platforms. Prior to joining DST, Elisabeth was full-time Associate Professor and Chair of the Desktop Publishing Program at Johnson County Community College where she joined her colleagues in developing a new degree in Web Technologies, aided in restructuring the Interactive Media department, and creating a cross-discipline Interactive Academy. Elisabeth is a four time Graphic Design USA Graphic Excellence Award winner and has received multiple awards for her editorial work from the ASBPE (American Society of Business Press Editors) as well as Silver and Gold EXCEL awards from the Society of National Association Publications.

Ms. Nord is a critical thinker and creative problem solver with 20 years’ experience in the graphic art industry. Her background is diverse, serving clients in the engineering, medical and arts industries prior to joining DST. Elisabeth has first-hand experience with all stages of project implementation, including research, analysis, concept development, and art direction. Ms. Nord holds a BFA from Kansas City Art Institute and is a member of the AIGA and is committed to upholding the integrity of graphic design through maintaining proper business practices and adhering to the standards set forth by the AIGA and Graphic Arts Guild.

Like many of her peers, Ms. Nord is a working fine artist as well. Currently she is painting two bodies of work. The first, Response to Societal Change, includes "Breaking Free," "Suburbia is Killing Me," and "Suburban Cancer." The second, Quilt Project, includes Panels 1-3.
