Mr. Jacob R. Ristau

Member Type Non-member

Jacob Ristau has been a designer since 2000 and an Art & Design educator at the university level since 2005. His research topics currently orbit the concepts of play and curiosity. These concepts manifest in the physical and performative aspects of visual/verbal language (i.e. dimensional typography, bookmaking and word art) and vigorous investigations into the nonlinear and intuitive aspects of creative process in educational, professional and personal contexts.

Formerly a designer at graphic design studio RBMM in Dallas, Texas, Jacob's work has been displayed in the pages of Graphis, Print, Communication Arts, and Logo Lounge Vol. 2, and he has work in the permanent collection of the world-renowned Joan Flasch Artists Book Collection. Jacob holds a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Communication from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
