AIGA celebrates the upcoming 25-year anniversary of the AIGA Worldstudio Scholarships program with #GivingTuesday generosity campaign
New York (October 31, 2019) - Since 1995, the AIGA Worldstudio Scholarships program has awarded $1.25 million to more than 700 college students to help increase diversity in the design profession. On December 3, AIGA is participating in Giving Tuesday—the biggest generosity movement in history—with a goal of raising $50,000 by December 31 to reach $1.3 million for 2020.
“Receiving the AIGA Worldstudio Scholarship gave me confidence to push forward in my career. With the support of the scholarship, I was able to go back to school at night to obtain my master’s degree at The City College of New York in Branding + Integrated Communication on the creative track.” —Amera-Rime Lulu, Art Director at Ogilvy New York
The year 2020 is the AIGA Worldstudio Scholarship program’s 25-year anniversary benefiting minority and economically disadvantaged students studying art and design at colleges and universities in the United States. The program aims to foster social and environmental responsibility in future artists and designers while promoting diversity in the creative world. Scholarship recipients are annually selected not only based on their talent and need, but also for their commitment to giving back to the community.
