Dan Trommater

Filmed on October 8, 2015, at the 2015 AIGA Design Conference.

Like design, magic is about creating an experience and communicating to an audience. In this video, Magic Castle regular Dan Trommater will help participants apply the magician's mindset to their lives and work. Through the use of magic, interactive exercises, and optical illusions, attendees will gain new perspective to help build better relationships with clients, colleagues, and teams.

Dan Trommater is a professional magician and speaker who creates an atmosphere where thinking shifts from the ordinary, leading participants to find new approaches and solutions to their work. Through the use of world-class magic, interactive exercises, and optical illusions, Trommater challenges assumptions and provides practical tools to apply the magician’s mindset to your work.

For 17 years, Trommater has practiced magic as both a form of entertainment and a communication tool. He’s traveled across North America working with organizations that want to shift their perspectives, and is a frequent performer at the Magic Castle, one of the world’s most prestigious magic performance venues. Prior to becoming a magician, he received a B.F.A. in photography at Rochester Institute of Technology and taught college-level photography courses. Trommater is an avid outdoorsman who can start a fire by rubbing two or more sticks together, as well as an amateur luthier—ask him about his cigar-box guitars.
