Artist Statement The bald eagle epitomizes American freedom and independence. Drawing on the symbolism of the bird and the flag, and using a clean aesthetic reminiscent of posters from the WPA era, I wanted to keep the message very simple. Vote! "The founding fathers made an appropriate choice when they selected the bald eagle as the emblem of the nation . The fierce beauty and proud independence of this great bird aptly symbolizes the strength and freedom of America." -President John F. Kennedy, 1961, in a letter to Charles Callison of the National Audubon Society. Let's make our voices heard and Get Out the Vote.
