Darkness Cannot Drive Out Darkness

Darkness Cannot Drive Out Darkness
Submitted By Sara Lind
Chapter Los Angeles
Artist Statement The quote by Martin Luther King, Jr., "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; Only light can do that..." communicates the urgency to get informed about the presidential candidates of 2016, and urges our nation to get out and vote even if we don’t think our vote has a voice. Don't sit in the dark because you think your single vote won't matter, vote because the choices you make WILL matter. The red and blue columns in the composition represent the Republican and Democratic parties and the variation in hue, length, and width of the columns represent diversity within our nation. The angle of the columns represents our moving forward as a united and progressive nation.
