Artist Statement Created in the spirit of a turn-of-the-century suffragette poster representing the fight to allow women the right to vote. Ratified by congress only 96 years ago on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. 50 years earlier, woman began the fight for this radical change to the Constitution. Only a handful of these women lived to see final victory in 1920. If you are women get out and vote!!!!
