    AIGA is beginning its second century with a clear understanding of its direction, focusing on:

    • Communicating the influence of design,
    • Enhancing the relevance, leadership and opportunities for designers,
    • Strengthening chapters and serving members, and
    • Reinforcing long term organizational viability.

    In this session AIGA Executive Director Ric Grefé presented AIGA’s strategies and programs, as developed by the board over the past year, and the results of review of all governance and finance policies and practices, assuring the organization is well structured for the era ahead. The briefing included a review of AIGA’s finances, its plans to find the most effective way to celebrate great design moving forward, and its plans for new offices to support members and chapters in the years ahead.

While guiding all of AIGA’s activities, his most significant contributions are in strategy, formulating new initiatives to enhance the competitive success of designers and advocating the value of design to business, government and the public.
