    Webcast: What comes next after school?

    Part of the “AIGA Voices” series of webcasts featuring thoughtful and influential designers—including AIGA board members—speaking about a wide range of topics.    

    Making the jump from being a design student to design professional can be both a challenging and exciting time. It is a time to shape your career as you keep learning new things and following your curiosity. In this webcast, Ethan Bodnar will talk about interviewing, getting your portfolio seen, internships, developing your personal brand, questions to keep in mind, setting goals for yourself and more. At the end of the webcast, Ethan will host a Q+A session and share additional resources with attendees.

    This session is open to all; an AIGA membership is not required to attend.

    Skillshare is a global community centered around creativity, collaboration and learning by doing. Ethan is a national board member of AIGA, a recent graduate from the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford and the author of Creative Grab Bag, published by HOW Books in 2009. Previously, Ethan was was a designer at Be Playful, a co-developer of Prototype and an intern at Behance and CO:LAB. He was the student groups director on the AIGA Connecticut board, spoke about design education at the AIGA National Design Conference, was part of the AIGA BoNE Show and has received the Worldstudio AIGA Scholarship. He speaks about education and design and lives in Brooklyn, New York.

    How to participate

    To join the webcast on May 16, click on the following link: http://my-aiga.adobeconnect.com/board/ 

    You can enter the meeting room using your Adobe Connect login email address and password (if you have one) or you can enter the room as a guest. You may be prompted to install an Adobe Connect Add-in, a two-minute process.

    The meeting room will open at 2:00 p.m. ET/11:00 a.m. PT. Once the meeting begins, you will be in listen-only mode. Your audio will be connected through the speakers on your computer so make sure they are turned on! Type your questions into the Q&A pod located on the right side of your screen.

    To minimize audio and video interference during the presentation:

    • A wired, Ethernet connection is recommended
    • Make sure all other applications using the internet are closed on your computer
    • To the best of your ability, join the webcast in a quiet environment
    • If you are joining from an office, request minimal server activity during the webcast
