“The Professional Craft of Design” lecture series
An ongoing series of free lectures focused on becoming a successful working designer,
“The Professional Craft of Design” events are each held at a
participating design school and feature lectures by Rockport‘s
esteemed authors. Individual lectures are uniquely influenced by
the guest speaker but all will help emerging designers make the
leap from student to designer by addressing the context of design
and the designer's role in today's marketplace and society.
Through presentations and Q&A sessions, these events not
only connect students with working designers to learn about
challenges they will face in the working world, they also provide a
platform to inspire and educate the talented designers of the
future through a connection with some of today's most successful
designers and studios. The goal of this series is to expose
emerging designers of all ages to all the possibilities that a
career in design can bring.
