Bio

Working in art and design satisfies the unyielding feeling I have to be productive. My self worth is directly related to how often I create. There is nothing in my life more fulfilling than my work.

My strength as a designer lies in my diligence to be prolific. I believe that a brevity of work and extensive experimentation is the best route to an effective solution for any design problem. By meticulously mapping out a schedule for each design project, I can efficiently meet deadlines, while leaving myself enough time to fully experiment with many variables. To assure myself that all facets of a design are functioning well on their own, I break down a project into five areas of concentration; typography, image, grid, color, and composition. Isolating these design elements helps me demystify the process of designing and makes a project much easier to tackle.

As an applied artist I capitalize on the idea that the work I make is meant to function amongst many other products and designs. Because the applied arts are universal, I can draw inspiration from both art and non art related subjects and apply them to my work. Outside of design I make hip hop instrumental music and I have found that the process and aesthetics behind making beats are easily applicable to designing. A good design as well as a good beat share similar properties. If they are successful, both are; dynamic, rhythmic, memorable, unexpected, and unique. By exploiting the similarities between contemporary music and the applied arts, I can create designs from a perspective that works on many levels beyond its visual aesthetics.
