Bio

Hello from Toledo! I am an Assistant Professor and Chair of the Graphic Design Division at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and a practicing designer. My work has been published in several books on graphic design and has received award recognitions; most recently in the 2013 International Design Awards by HOW Magazine where the You Are Here Toledo Project was recognized as Outstanding and was featured as an AIGA Case Study in 2013. I am a co-founder & organizer of SWEAT (Summer Workshop for Experimentation and Thought) and co-editor of the book Toledo Remanufactured: Extracting a City's Graphic Culture (published by the SWEAT Workshop, 2007) and ElevenDozen (published by the SWEAT Workshop, 2010). I am a founding board member (2007), current co-president of the AIGA Toledo Chapter. In 2010 and in 2016, I co-chaired response_ability and Nuts+Bolts, an AIGA Design Educators Conferences.
