| Bio | Mitzie is a designer and illustrator who likes to make images from every day life. Although she calls Syracuse home, she grew up in the little suburb of Lakewood, Colorado (part of Denver). She also lived in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia
before the dust settled.
Although she grew up in a creative environment, it took her several years of working alongside creative professionals before realizing she might actually be able to earn a living with a creative job. So, she worked her way over to the
interactive design field before returning to school for a formal education.
With the help of a very understanding husband and some very good teachers, in 2008 she earned her BFA in graphic and interactive design, with honors, from
Tyler School of Art, Temple University. After the birth of her son, she decided to focus her creative efforts on illustration. Because her roots are in the web, she mostly produces scalable vector
images, so they can be used on teeny tiny interactive screens or as large wall displays.
In her free time, Mitzie enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the beautiful upstate New York outdoors, burning things in the kitchen (this sometimes includes herself), and taking
pictures. |
