Silas H. Rhodes is a design educator and co-founder of the School of Visual Arts, one of the most vital and prestigious arts colleges in the United States. In his roles as SVA’s co-founder, president, and chairman of the board, he pioneered numerous initiatives, including the concept of team teaching, a system of academic advisers instead of deans, and instruction by professionals working in the arts. In 2004 he was awarded an AIGA Medal.
