AIGA has drafted a document that outlines the outcomes and competencies expected of a four-year design program. This document will become the basis of our efforts to guide curriculum development for future design education. We are currently seeking your input on these recommendations; please comment by August 24.

For more than three decades Paula Scher has been at the forefront of graphic design. Iconic, smart and unabashedly populist, her images have entered into the American vernacular, including the graphic identities for Citibank and Tiffany & Co. Since 1991, she has been a principal in the New York office of Pentagram, and in 2001 she was awarded an AIGA Medal.
