One of my biggest worries in the design business is where the next client will come from. It was a worry when I started, and it’s a worry seven years later—albeit to a much lesser degree. For more than three decades Paula Scher has been at the forefront of graphic design. Iconic, smart and unabashedly populist, her images have entered into the American vernacular, including the graphic identities for Citibank and Tiffany & Co. Since 1991, she has been a principal in the New York office of Pentagram, and in 2001 she was awarded an AIGA Medal.
