Karen Rall is senior manager of User Interface at Excite@Home Networks, where she leads product design and definition efforts. Her group designs the next generation of products with a focus on broadband delivery of information and media on a variety of platforms, including interactive television and computers.

Rall released her first interactive product in 1989--a tool kit for creating and demonstrating uses for interactive visual communication and animation. She has worked on many cutting-edge products through her career, including the Library of Congress "American Memory Project" and the first interactive kiosks in the U.S. Capitol Building.

Rall has written newsletters, contributed to books, done a radio show and extensive public speaking to evangelize the wonders of interactive multimedia. In 1995 she was a key member of the design team for the Tele-TV interactive television prototypes.
