A graduate of Yale University, Bob Morehouse came to graphic design
by a circuitous route—first working in the film industry, then landscape
design, and finally magazine publishing—before founding Vermilion in
Boulder, Colorado in 1980. He chose Boulder because of the outdoor
lifestyle and 300 days of sunshine a year, but also to study Buddhism.

organizations. He was the recipient of the Pacesetter Award for Business
in 2007 and was honored as Business Person of the Year by the Boulder
Chamber of Commerce in 2009. Vermilion won a Webby award in 2008 for an
interactive project for an event marketing company.

travel and learning about cultures around the world. He lives with his
partner of 12 years, Noel Maye.
