Hezron Gurley named AIGA’s COO and CFO

Julie Anixter, executive director of AIGA, the professional association for design, announced today that Hezron Gurley has been hired as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for the esteemed design membership and advocacy organization.

Gurley, who has been filling the role on a temporary basis since November, takes on the roles vacated at the end of December 2015 by Denise Wood and Kathleen Cox. He will focus his efforts in the areas of finance, accounting, and operations, and will play a central role in membership recruitment and retention efforts.

Gurley holds a Master’s degree in finance and accounting from Regis University in Denver, Colorado and has more than 20 years of experience in industries from banking to healthcare at companies including Siemens, KeyBank, Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, and ICON Capital. Most recently, he served as Chief Financial Officer for Girl Scouts of Central California South, where he was responsible for directing the fiscal function of the Council and supported the Chief Executive Officer.

Gurley brings to AIGA his experience in marketing, brand building, strategic business development, business management, process mapping, risk management, business/revenue growth, finance and accounting, and membership development.
