Bio For over 25 years, Steve has had the opportunity to work for respected, innovative, and passionate brands. The beginning of his creative career began with 10 years at the Vermont design studio, Jager DiPaola Kemp Design (a.k.a: JDK) His experience and love for strategizing and designing for outdoor brands began with names such as Karhu, Kelty, STX, RockShox, and Burton—with a focus on print, product graphics and production. His entrepreneurial endeavors began shortly thereafter in 2000. Since then he has started two successful design studios including (most recently) Vermont's first "food agency", Skillet Design and Marketing. In the roles of owner, partner, and creative director, he has been involved in many design and branding initiatives for national clients such as TDK Electronics, Inc, Jetboil, Keurig, J.K. Adams, Vasa, and Bridgedale. He has also been instrumental in the oversight and/or brand development of many local and national specialty food producers such as Vermont Nut Free Chocolates, Blake Hill Preserves, Vermont Chevon, Woods Edge Farm and Black River Meats to name just a few. Steve has been a speaker at industry conferences for the Vermont Specialty Food Association and the State of Vermont Chamber of Commerce on the topic of branding and enjoys mentoring at schools like Champlain College and for organizations such as AIGA, Vermont. His work has been awarded placement in design annuals for Print, How Magazine, Graphic Design USA, and Creativity 35 & 37 and has been published in several design books by Rockport Publishers and Logo Lounge.
