Description The National Organization for Women was founded a century ago, in 1916. The idea that women had to fight for the right to vote_and only succeeded in 1920_is a travesty, but it is a real and serious part of our collective history. Suffragettes were and remain our greatest advocates and deserve to be celebrated. A photograph taken a century ago shows British social activist Lady Norman on her scooter: might she have been going to vote? Let's assume so!
