  • Making the Case Competition

    Case studies are a tangible means of demonstrating design’s value to clients. Some firms develop case studies as a matter of course—others might collect the information but have not developed a structured or substantive way of presenting it.

    AIGA’s “Making the Case” competition awarded honors to design case studies that demonstrate the value of design in a clear, compelling and accessible way. A discerning and qualified jury identified submissions that serve as an effective tool to explain design thinking to clients, students, peers and the public in general.

    Selections

    In 2011, an esteemed jury met to review dozens of entries for “Making the Case.” From nearly sixty submissions, nine case studies were awarded honors for the inaugural collection. They serve as tools to explain the value of design to non-designers, including brief explanations of challenges, approach and actual metrics of effectiveness.

    AIGA’s 2012 competition: Justified

    Justified” represents the next generation of AIGA’s competitions and seeks stories that reveal the value design created for the client.
