The Division of Graphic Design in the School of Art at Bowling
Green State University (BGSUGD), AIGA Toledo, and the AIGA BGSU
Student Group are proud to announce SHINE, the 6th Annual AIGA
Toledo / BGSUGD Student Portfolio Review Day, Saturday, April 13th,
from 10:00am-4:00pm, on the campus of BGSU. Over 60 students from
seven regional programs participated last year. Don't miss this
great opportunity to (re)connect with regional graphic design
faculty, students, and professionals.
Participating students will receive immediate evaluation and
feedback from regional design professionals who are working and
teaching in the field of graphic design each and everyday.
Undergraduate and graduate graphic design students, at all levels
and from all institutions, are encouraged to participate (recent
grads as well!).
Special guest and acclaimed designer Gail Anderson will be
giving a special closing talk, as well as serving as a portfolio
reviewer for the day. Anderson is a New York City-based
graphic designer, educator, and writer. She has served as creative
director of design for SpotCo, an advertising agency whose clients
include over half the shows on Broadway, and as senior art director
of Rolling Stone magazine. Anderson is an AIGA medalist,
and co-author of seven books on design and pop culture, including
the upcoming Found Type, with Steven Heller. She teaches
at the School of Visual Arts, and most recently designed a postage
stamp for the USPS commemorating the 150th anniversary of the
signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
