THAT WAS then. THIS IS now.
You've seen it before. And you'll see it again. Trends come and
go, but good design is timeless. It acknowledges the past,
incorporates the human experience as it evolves, and gives us a new
way of looking at the world. Design is a process that does not
simply move forward in a linear fashion. Rather, design is like a
river?meandering between flux and permanence, spilling into pools
of time and timelessness, and flowing between the past, present,
and future.
Good designers are time travelers.
Design doesn't sweep problems under the rug?design exists to
create positive solutions that lead us to a better place. Good
design achieves its intended effect and then opens our minds to
what the human experience can be. It starts a conversation between
the visible and the invisible.
Good designers are shamans.
Tear down barriers. Let your imagination soar. Design that
reflects the past and looks toward the future is poetry. It has
