Summer is the perfect time to kick back with a good book whether
it's on the beach while taking in some rays, on a plane to a fun
getaway destination or on your living room couch. This is why we're
bringing you our first ever Summer Book Club!
This summer we will be reading four books on the latest trends
in interactive design from A Book Apart.
? Mobile First - June
? Responsive Design - July
? HTML5 - August
? CSS3 - September
During each monthly meeting we will discuss the previous months
book. Conversation will be casual and will focus on new things
learned, potential applications for the content discussed in the
book and lingering questions. The discussion will last for 1-2
hours depending on availability of the participants. Please bring
your book, notes, and any relevant work samples that might further
the conversation. We look forward to meeting you!
HTML5 For Web Designers
by Jeremy Keith
The HTML5 SPec is 900 pages and hard to read. HTML
for Web Designers is 85 pages and fun to read. Easy choice.
HTML5 is the longest HTML specification ever written. It is also
the most powerful, and in some ways, the most confusing. What do
accessible, content-focused standards-based web designers and
front-end developers need to know? And how we harness the power of
HTML5 in todays browsers?
