In the Neighborhood: Open Book
Detroit
July 27, 2012
Open Book is a 9-day intensive experimental book workshop to be
held at Eastern Michigan University's beautiful Parsons Center in
northern Michigan this summer. The workshop runs from July 27 to
August 5, 2012. The website is: http://openbookworkshop.com/.
The workshop is intended to push notions of what books can be
through discussion and visual projects. The noncredit workshop is
available for $750. Students can also elect to take the course for
graduate or undergraduate credit at the current tuition rates plus
a program fee of $300.
Ryan Molloy and Leslie Atzmon of EMU are organizing the workshop,
but it's being taught by designers Danielle Aubert and Edwin Jager.
Please see the website for their biographies and some images of
their work.
The workshop lasts two weekends and one work week, so participants
wouldn't miss more than a week of work.
