For starters, the forum button needs a better CTA and be more prominent on all pages. I also wish the forum was more traditional and not threaded. This isn't 4chan or reddit. Very rarely does threaded boards work. I'm interested in seeing the wireframes that AIGA used when creating this site. I almost feel as if you guys just put too much of an emphasis on finding cool typography and less on actual experience and layout. This reply box is a perfect example. No one wants, nor should write a reply in a 40 pixel tall box.

I don’t think threading is the problem. One of the oldest boards in existence, USENET, was mainly accessed with threading and it worked quite well. The problem with the threading in this board is that we have absolutely no idea if there are any new replies and even if we knew there were some we’d have no clue where to find them.
