Jessica Helfand, co-founder of the Winterhouse Institute and chair of the Winterhouse Awards for Design Writing & Criticism, praises the overall quality of this year’s writing and in particular the award recipients’ capacity to use language as a tool to reach people beyond the design community. The two Education Award winners, Annie Simpson and Joshua Yaffa, and the Writing Award winner, David Barringer, all accept their awards.
