Last-minute reminders
The Leadership Retreat is just a few days away. Here are a few last-minute details to help you prepare. We look forward to seeing you at the opening session, 1:00 p.m. on Thursday (presidents, see you at 11:30 a.m.)!

Review your materials
Remember to review materials in the retreat folder that you should have received in the mail. You can also view the attendee list and leadership materials at leadershipretreat2008.aiga.org and aiga-workroom.pbwiki.com (invite key aigad3s1gn) before arriving.

Take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator before you come to Omaha
Saturday afternoon’s leadership training session, Personality, Leadership and Teamwork, led by David Schacter of New York University, will use principles behind Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (an assessment tool used for understanding personality) to help enhance leadership and teamwork skills.

To prepare for the session, complete the exercise at: http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

Remember to record your four-letter type indicator on the orange card provided in your retreat packet and bring it with you on Saturday.

Weather
At this time of year, Omaha temperatures are generally in the upper 70s during the day and upper 50s in the evening. Check your favorite weather source for long-range forecasts before packing. Dress is business/casual. Friday evening’s reception is an opportunity to dress up a little. Remember that meeting rooms can be very cool, so you will want to pack a sweater or jacket.

Arriving early? Attend the Wednesday evening AIGA Nebraska reception
Join AIGA Nebraska for a pre-retreat reception at The Max, just a few blocks from the Embassy Suites. The reception kicks off at 7:00 p.m. Get acquainted with fellow retreat attendees on the outdoor patio in the back of the club. Light appetizers will be served. Stick around after the reception for drinks and dancing at this expansive dance club or connect with a Nebraska chapter representative for a guided tour of the Old Market area.

Costume speed-networking icebreaker at the Nomad Lounge
Thursday, May 29
6:00–8:30 p.m.

Pull an outfit together that represents your town or chapter and be creative.

At the Nomad Lounge, you’ll have the opportunity to mix, mingle, network and participate in a fast-paced speed-networking event, where you will get to know your fellow attendees a little better!

Bring your business cards
During the retreat, you’ll make a lot of new connections and possibly catch up with old friends. Don’t forget to bring business cards so you can stay in touch.

Internet access at the Embassy Suites
AIGA will provide complimentary wireless access in the meeting space Thursday through Saturday. Internet access is also available in your guest room and hotel public areas (lobby, atrium, etc.) at a cost of $10.95 for a 24-hour period.

For more information, visit leadershipretreat.aiga.org and aiga-workroom.pbwiki.com (invite key aigad3s1gn).
