Designers count in 2007 Economic Census

The 2007 Economic Census is being conducted this December, creating an opportunity for designers to stand up and be counted. As AIGA has been working closely with the Census Bureau to refine its definition of the profession to more accurately collect data on our size and economic impact, please notify AIGA if your business is one of the 450,000 in this sector that receives this important questionnaire.

Submit AIGA board nominations by December 15

The 2008 Nominating Committee, chaired by Clement Mok (San Francisco), requests nominations for five seats on the AIGA board to be submitted by December 15. Every member should consider nominating at least one candidate—even yourself! Self-nomination is permitted. What does it take?

Design Leaders Confidence Index drops in third quarter

At the third quarter mark for 2007, AIGA’s Design Leaders Confidence Index registered its lowest rating since it was created in April 2005. This drop mirrors other readings of the current economy, amid concerns about the mortgage industry and jitters over oil prices and inflation.
