Defining Design on a Changing Planet
Icograda Design Week in Seattle

July 9–15, 2006
Seattle, USA

In 2005, AIGA joined 92 professional and associate members from 49 countries as part of the Icograda network.

Now, the AIGA Center for Cross Cultural Design and Icograda are collaborating to bring Icograda Design Week to Seattle.

Be a part of history
This is the first U.S.-based Icograda Design Week.

Discuss important issues affecting global design
Join the conversation about how design may serve both commerce and society. Our speakers will address major topics facing design, including the cultural, political, economic and environmental issues at work in a global society.

Connect with the international design community
This is a unique opportunity to meet and collaborate with designers from Africa, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States.

The roster of 22 confirmed speakers from 14 countries includes: Darrel Rhea, (author of Making Meaning: The Business of Experience Design), Stanley Hainsworth (Global Creative Director, Starbucks), Mervyn Kurlansky (co-founder of Pentagram and Icograda Past President) and Henry Steiner (co-author of Cross-Cultural Design: Communicating in the Global Marketplace).
