Join your fellow visionaries at "Next: AIGA Design Conference."
AIGA's 12th biennial design conference will look toward the future—not
only to see where the design profession is going, but to set the course
we want it to take. As designers, visual thinkers and innovative creators,
we shape the future everyday. Take part in the creative playground and
unique learning environment of "Next"—to improve your
practice, connect with a diverse group of design peers, expand your way
of thinking and experience new directions in design. Hear from inspired
voices on the evolution of designing and discover what's on the horizon.
This October in Denver, home of the AIGA American Design Archives, 2,500
members and creative professionals will take inspiration from stimulating
presentations as well as participate in focused affinity sessions with
like-minded attendees, to share ideas and experiences in areas such as
practice management, sustainability, multiculturalism, in-house design,
social responsibility, design education and more.
Just announced! Kurt Andersen—author of the newly
published Heyday and best-selling Turn of the Century, radio
host of "Studio 360," and co-founder of Spy magazine—will
be master of ceremonies. As a keen observer and talented interviewer,
Andersen will ensure that the presentations and media shown on the main
stage both enlighten and entertain.
Why Denver?
Searching for what lies ahead in uncharted territory takes courage. The
early pioneers of the west possessed that great vision and boundless spirit.
Today, the quest for what is next in design follows in those footsteps
and echoes that vision. Just as Denver takes its place among the country's
most cosmopolitan and sustainable cities, AIGA explores the possibilities
of what's "Next" in this city of dreams.
Uniquely framed by the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains, Denver is
the site of historical attractions such as the Buffalo Bill Museum and
modern architectural delights like the Daniel Libeskind-designed extension
to the Denver Art Museum, home of the AIGA National Design Archives. From
the Red Rocks Ampitheater to the future Museum of Contemporary Art, designed
by architect David Adjaye, Denver is the ideal locale to embrace the past
and look forward to the future.
