“Bordo Bello” is an annual skateboard art show hosted by AIGA Colorado, which has worked with more that 1,000 artists to create a collaborative exhibition of skateboard decks in celebration of the colorful Colorado lifestyle.
This exhibit at the AIGA National Design Center is a unique collection of skateboards from previous “Bordo Bello” events, as well as brand new artwork available for purchase during an opening reception. Artists include Jessi Arrington, Alex Bogusky, Matteo Bologna, Will Bryant, John Contino, Johnny Cupcakes, Louise Fili, Debbie Millman, Mig Reyes, Dana Tanamachi, James Victore and more.
“Bordo Bello” is a rare chance to see a diverse display of talent from people who wouldn’t normally have their work shown together on the same walls, much less featured in a gallery. Student artists, professional designers and nationally recognized names in design and street art have come together over the years to celebrate design and our creative community, while contributing to great causes.
The exhibition is on view from April 22 through July 2, 2013 at the AIGA National Design Center in New York City. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
New skateboard artwork will be available for purchase in a silent auction during the opening reception: Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. In addition to the silent auction there will be craft beer, a DJ and the opportunity to try out a custom-made TechDeck Skatepark. The reception is open to the public, and all proceeds from the auction will support mentorship programs in AIGA chapters across the United States.
Select decks are now up for bidding via eBay, and attendees at
the reception on May 8 can bid on the full set of decks at the AIGA
National Design Center. See the Bordo Bello site for details.
