    The Texas Show

    The Texas Show 2012 640

    August 3–September 28, 2012

On view at the AIGA National Design Center

The best design from the Lone Star State is coming to New York City! Award-winning designers from Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio—the four Texas chapters of AIGA, the professional association for design—are represented in “The Texas Show” exhibition, opening August 3 at the AIGA National Design Center.

The Texas Show is a biennial competition and traveling exhibition that showcases the best communication design in Texas. In addition to recognizing and discovering designers, this year’s show aims to foster community within the regional chapters of AIGA and nationally.

The Texas Show is open to all Texas design professionals and students. The competition aims to recognize stellar design in Texas, create excitement in the design industry, help designers get discovered (which keeps established folks in the industry on their toes and inspires new talent), and highlight Texas designers in a way that can demonstrate value to clients and firms.

Texans historically love a good fight, so what better way to show off what we’ve got than a good, old-fashioned, friendly competition? And the stakes were high this year with a fourth chapter participating and—for the first time—an exhibition at the AIGA National Design Center in New York.
